Hey!

Do you fancy improving your language proficiency in Czech, English or Spanish? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place! :) I’m offering super-duper fun classes (cause life’s too short to be bored!) which will rocket-boost your language level. I’m convinced that classes should be entertaining no matter the age, so whether you’re a kid or a mature adult, I’m happy to be your guide on your journey. I tailor each lesson to client’s needs and requirements which means we’ll only do what you want. Not a fan of grammar? No problem! We can focus on something else, such as conversation, and I’ll find my way to sneak some grammar into our lessons without you even noticing.

I hope I’ve managed to motivate you (at least a bit :)). Now let me narrate a wee story based on real events. In other words, I’m going to tell you about my life. I’ve been teaching for more than 4 year now and I’ve loved every second of it. My passion for teaching dates back to my early childhood, when I was about eight years old, I would ask my sister to be my pretend-student and teach her all the things I’d learnt at school that day. As I grew older, I would help my friends who were struggling with languages and I realised it’s something I absolutely adore doing. For that reason, I gave private English lessons and applied to be an official English teacher at a local language academy in the Czech Republic. I got accepted and worked there for two years. During that time, I had the chance to master various teaching methods, such as the Callan method and Speak pl. My students were adults of all ages, so I got to experience all kinds of people and their diverse preferences. I taught full-time students, young adults, seniors and a couple managers of well-known companies such as Veolia too. I either taught at the academy or commuted to companies to give lessons there.

After high school I decided to study at the University of Glasgow. I still continued giving English and Spanish classes, but this time via Skype. Although I like online teaching, because it allows you to be in touch with your favourite teacher/students regardless of the place, I still prefer face-to-face lessons if possible. However, if you’d rather be cosy and stay in your bed while studying, I can teach you online too, that’s no problem at all!

When I finished my second year at uni, I travelled to Spain to spread my enthusiasm for English there. During my internship, I had the opportunity to teach children aged 1-16 and it opened a whole new world for me, because passing your knowledge on kids is very different from when you’re working with adults. I am grateful I could learn how to approach young minds efficiently. I used music and movement for ELT and the Jolly Phonics method. The first method is a must for infantile learners, especially babies as it’s all about singing and jumping around, and the latter is beneficial for anyone whose first language is not English. It applies phonics in an easy accessible manner so that students are aware of all English sounds and are able to both pronounce and distinguish between them. I found this teaching style very effective, particularly with Spaniards as they tend to struggle with some English sounds, such as the ‘h’ sound. In addition to that, I was preparing a class for a PET Cambridge exam and I am proud to say that all my students have passed it successfully.

Right now I’m back in Scotland and would love to carry on with teaching! If you’re keen on learning with me, don’t hesitate to contact me.

I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you.

Have a good one :)

Veronika

Reference

I have known Veronika since I was a kid. She’s basically like an older sister to me, she’s caring, supportive and she’s always been here for me. Veronika is a smart young woman with the ability to accomplish anything she sets her mind on. Not only is she a committed and passionate student herself, but she knows how to teach others effectively too. She’s been giving me private Spanish lessons for a couple years now and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot with her. She always knows how to present the topic in an easy manner so that the student develops their speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities effortlessly.
